Bruno loves to snuggle
Dog obedience

BRUNO is a handsome, approximately 18 month old Collie/Shepherd mix who’s social, gentle and a little shy. He’s very food-motivated and attentive, so he should be a great dog to train, and obedience class would also help him with his confidence. He seems to like other dogs.
Bruno will do well in a home that will commit to giving him the kind handling, training and encouragement he needs.

Bruno lives in Kennel 41.

How do you train a dog to jump into the back of a car willingly?

Question by g.cubed: How do you train a dog to jump into the back of a car willingly?
My dog is ridiculously afraid of jumping into the back of my Expidition. I have tried cookies, treats, positive encouragement- everything! She has no problem jumping out, and she isn’t afraid of car rides- she just can’t get in. I have resorted to picking her up and putting her in the car, but it’s getting old. Any tips? Thanks!!

This is not just when going to the vet- she also does this before going on walks on a hill a ways away from my house. Best way to train a dog for agility competitions?

Question by Will Matic: Best way to train a dog for agility competitions?
I live in a cold climate (snowy, windy) and our dog is only 4 months. I feel like I would need to start training him soon, but I have no idea how. In addition, not being able to go outside very often poses an obstacle.

Sign up for classes. You will learn the safe way to train, you will have access to all the expensive equipment, and many places have indoor facilities.

BTW, at 4 months he is too young to be jumping. He can learn some of the obstacles, and there are puppy agility classes to familiarize him with it, but not serious agility traning at this age. However, this is a good time to start obedience classes. Control is an important aspect of agility competition.
